Over the next year, GIRA hopes to expand its programming to include an education-oriented Philanthropy and Outreach Program . The goal is to serve the DC area's community needs by offering local students an opportunity to become well-versed in international relations. By working with local high schools, our outreach activities will foster leadership and debate skills and a passion for global affairs.

Our Philanthropy and Outreach Program will compliment existing projects that have been held at our two Model UN conferences. Over the past two years, both NAIMUN and NCSC have established partnerships with non-profit organizations to raise awareness about critical international issues. Last year, NAIMUN XLVI raised $10,000 for Oxfam through an extensive fundraising campaign that connected our educational and philanthropic goals, while conference delegates and staff participated in NAIMUN's first-ever Community Service Project. NCSC XXXVII and NAIMUN XLVII have built on these initiatives through a partnership with this year's charity in focus, Save the Children.

If you or your organization are interested in participating in GIRA's outreach activities, please email ceo@modelun.org.
