Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Arun Avva

Arun Avva is a member of the Walsh School of Foreign Service Class of 2012. He is originally from Edison, NJ and has participated in Model United Nations since high school. He has previously served as the Conferences Coordinator and remains very involved with the Georgetown traveling team. He is currently majoring in International Political Economy and is also interested in international law, particularly post conflict justice. Arun also works for the Georgetown School of Foreign Service as an Economics tutor. He is very excited to spend his last year at Georgetown working to improve GIRA and its commitment to developing an understanding of international relations among students.


Chief Financial Officer, Adam Giansiracusa

Adam is a senior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Politics, with a concentration in Foreign Policy and Policy Processes, and a Certificate in International Business Diplomacy. He grew up and still currently lives in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This will be Adam's seventh year of doing MUN, having been involved and attended NAIMUN since high school. Before being appointed CFO, he served as Chief of Staff for the Georgetown International Relations Club, and was the head of the Georgetown Diplomacy and International Security Conference in its inaugural year.


Chief Operations Officer, Jordan Romanoff

Jordan is a Culture and Politics major in the School of Foreign Service with a focus in International Public Policy. As a senior, he has been a part of the International Relations Club (member of Conferences Staff, Logistics Coordinator of GDISC and Director of Special Events) and GIRA (Director of Logistics for NCSC XXXVII) since his freshmen year. When not engaged in Model UN activities, Jordan is a member of the Georgetown Chamber Singers, spends too much time in Barnes and Noble / on M street, and loves to run on the Potomac trail.


Director of Marketing & Public Affairs, Alex Bozzette

Alex is a senior in the School of Foreign Service studying Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Global Health. He spent the summer of 2011 using a generous travel-study grant to research Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) policy in several high-burden countries. Originally from San Diego, California, Alex has been highly involved in Model UN since he started high school. He has staffed both NCSC and NAIMUN every year since coming to Georgetown and loved serving as Secretary-General of NCSC XXXVIII in 2010. Outside of the organization and classroom, Alex enjoys getting outdoors to bike and ski when not rooting for his hometown Padres. He is excited to work with the rest of the 2011-2012 board to improve marketing and public affairs as GIRA's DMP.


Executive Secretary, Ross DiPronio

Ross is a sophomore in the School of Foreign Service, potentially majoring in Science, Technology and International Affairs/International Security. In his junior and senior years of high school in Orchard Park, New York, Ross was a dedicated member of the Model UN team. At Georgetown, he has served and will serve again this year as a staff member at both NAIMUN and NCSC, and is the Director of Logistics for the Georgetown Diplomacy and International Security Conference. As Executive Secretary, Ross is looking forward to increasing his involvement with GIRA and the Georgetown International Relations community. Elsewhere at Georgetown, Ross is a School of Foreign Service Peer Mentor, a volunteer on the Campus Community Emergency Response Team, an ESCAPE retreat leader, and an occasional member of the GU Pep Band.


Secretary-General, NCSC XL, Peter Brigham

Peter Brigham is a member of the Class of 2014 in Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Economics with a concentration in Finance and Commerce. He is originally from Portland, Maine, and has been actively involved in Model U.N. activities since his freshman year in high school. He has held numerous positions in Georgetown’s International Relations Club and GIRA, Inc., most recently serving on the Senior Staff of NAIMUN, NCSC’s sister conference for high school students, and as the Undersecretary General for Councils and Regionals at NCSC XXXIX. He is incredibly excited to take on the role of Secretary-General for NCSC XL and looks forward to leading the conference to new heights of substantive excellence and delegate engagement.


Executive Director, NCSC XL, Jessica Lawson

Jessica is a member of the Class of 2014 in the Walsh School of Foreign Service and hails from sunny Tampa, Florida. With her love of Latin and South America, she plans on majoring in International Political Economy and aims towards a proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese. Jessica discovered Model United Nations at Georgetown and has enjoyed every minute of it. At Georgetown, Jessica can be seen flipping on ESPN as a cheerleader for the Hoyas, helping plan special events for the International Relations Club, or performing research on the International Monetary Fund. In her "spare time", Jessica enjoys traveling around D.C., Glee, and trying to learn Spanish through foreign films. Jessica is enthusiastic about NCSC XL and seeks to enhance the delegate experience while producing the best NCSC yet.


Secretary-General, NAIMUN XLIX, Taylor Wettach

Taylor is a member of the Class of 2013 majoring in Culture & Politics in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. Hailing from the great state of Iowa, Taylor discovered his passion for Model UN at Georgetown and has never looked back. Taylor served on the Special Events Staff of the International Relations Club, the General Staffs of NAIMUN and NCSC, and travels as a member of Georgetown’s competitive Model UN team. Most recently, Taylor was the Deputy Under Secretary-General of Cabinets for NAIMUN XLVIII, overseeing seven dynamic crisis committees and an amazing staff. This year, he is excited to take on the role of Secretary-General of NAIMUN XLIX. As Secretary-General, he plans help NAIMUN reach new levels of substantive innovation, delegate engagement, and programming excellence. Outside of Model UN, Taylor enjoys writing and performing music, working out at Yates, and chilling at Club Lau.


Executive Director, NAIMUN XLIX, Caitlin Pharo

Caitlin is a member of the Class of 2013 in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Politics with a concentration in Foreign Policy Processes. A proud native of New York City, Caitlin began her great love affair with Model UN at Georgetown. She serves on the general staff of NAIMUN's sister conference, NCSC, and travels with Georgetown's Model UN team. After a wonderful year as Director of Registration for NAIMUN XLVIII, Caitlin looks forward to taking on the role of Executive Director for NAIMUN XLIX. As Executive Director, Caitlin hopes to enhance and maintain NAIMUN's unparalleled committee experience, ensuring that every delegate has a challenging and engaging time in committee, while also delivering innovative educational and social justice programming to ensure a truly unforgettable conference for all delegates. In her theoretical spare time, Caitlin enjoys reading novels, attempting crosswords, and doing any number puzzle she can get her hands on.


Secretary-General Emeritus, NCSC XXXIX, Michael Lopesciolo

Michael Lopesciolo is a member of the Class of 2013 from outside of Chicago, Illinois in Georgetown's School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Political Economy with a certificate in International Development. This NCSC will mark his fifth year of Model UN involvement, and he is excited to make NCSC XXXIX a phenomenal Model UN experience. Michael served as a chair at NCSC XXXVIII, and is the Deputy Undersecretary-General for General Assemblies at NAIMUN XLVIII. He also frequently travels with Georgetown's competitive Model UN team and edits for the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs. When he has time, Michael loves to sing and cook – both of which he does oddly well for an economics major – and compulsively read the NY Times and BBC World News.


Executive Director Emerita, NCSC XXXIX, Christine Shely

Christine is a member of the School of Foreign Service class of 2013, majoring in Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Security. After living in Scottsdale, Arizona for most of her life, Christine discovered MUN at Georgetown and has been an active participant ever since. She is excited to serve as Executive Director of NCSC XXXIX and contribute to the tradition of excellence that NCSC upholds. Prior to her appointment, she served as Director of Marketing for NCSC 38 and has helped organize the Georgetown Diplomacy and International Security Conference for the past two years. When not working on international affairs related things, she serves as Deputy Photography Editor for The Hoya, tutors math, loves to cook and (occasionally) sleep.


Executive Director Emerita, NAIMUN XLVIII, Kelsie Wilhelm

Kelsie is a member of the Class of 2012 in the School of Foreign Service majoring in Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Global Health. Born and raised in Japan until age seven, she more recently hails from Moorestown, NJ, where she was very involved in Model UN throughout high school. Having previously served as Assistant Director of Programming for NAIMUN XLVI and Executive Assistant for NAIMUN XLVII, Kelsie is excited to serve as the Executive Director for NAIMUN XLVIII: she looks forward to upholding NAIMUN's challenging and engaging committee experience while also expanding the conference's educational programming and social justice initiatives. When not dedicating her life to NAIMUN, Kelsie enjoys volunteering as an EMT for the student-run Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Service (GERMS) and welcoming new Hoyas to the Hilltop as an Orientation Advisor for New Student Orientation.


Executive Director Grand Emerita, NCSC XXXVIII, Leah Dreyfuss

Leah Dreyfuss is a member of the Class of 2012 in the School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Politics with a concentration in Security Studies and a certificate in International Development. She has participated in Model UN for six years and has enjoyed her continued MUN involvement at Georgetown through NCSC, NAIMUN, and the collegiate circuit. She absolutely adores NCSC and is thrilled to build upon its recent success as the Executive Director of NCSC XXXVIII. Prior to her appointment, Leah served as NCSC XXXVII's Director of Business and took on various roles within the Georgetown International Relations Association. Leah is an avid Hoyas basketball fan who enjoys exploring DC, but her heart belongs to New York City and the Yankees. She loves traveling, horseback riding, and a seriously strong cup of English tea.
